SYSTEMS ENGINEER
The Systems Engineer position requires an exceptional ability to translate customer needs into viable and convincing solutions, often in intensely competitive environments. The SE is increasingly mastering a confident balance between deep technical expertise across multiple products and strong interpersonal selling and consultative skills. The SE is able to design, demonstrate, present and integrate Avaya’s product and service capabilities with the customer’s needs. Due to the technical depth and experience with a customer’s IT infrastructure and the capabilities and constraints of Avaya’s products, the SE is able to design solutions that result in high customer satisfaction. The SE is often considered a very strong local generalist – as well as an expert in a specific subset of Avaya’s and competitors product capabilities.

Role requirements:

• Deliver technical sales support, including solution design, proposal development, architecture and design, configuration, bid preparation and technical response, proof-of-concept trials/demo, and other account-specific activities to the Avaya Sales team in the assigned territory
• Deliver technical sales support to Avaya’s Business Partners and System Integrators/Service Provider partners in the assigned territory
• Work closely with key customers to understand their needs in converged communication and to develop solutions to meet their business and technical requirements
• Consult and advise Avaya sales and Business Partner ecosystem in competitive strategies so as to position the Avaya value proposition effectively
• Provide timely intelligence and feedback on product performance and escalations in the field, and work closely with the Business Units to ensure superior customer satisfaction

The Person:

• Avaya product experience and/or relevant experience with competitor or ISV offerings in solution area is preferred
• Demonstrable track record of sales engineering or consulting in general business or specific industries in sales support, solutions planning, Implementation and Operational background is required
• Minimum three years of work experience in designing solutions for converged communication infrastructure and applications, particularly in data/voice networking
• Strong domain knowledge of converged communication solutions, including IP telephony, telecommunication and networking technologies, contact centers and unified communications applications
• Background in either network consulting, system integration or contact center technology and operations
• Excellent oral presentation skills and ability to communicate effectively with technical and business executives
• Self-motivated, energetic, and enthusiastic personality
• A fast learner who works effectively in cross-functional teams, and possess a proven ability to deliver solid presales support under time pressure
• Analytical and strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand and articulate complex customer requirements into technically sound solutions
• Some travels within the ASEAN region may be required
